Our Mission

The agency known as MY COMMUNITY NURSE PROJECT launched in February 2020, with a mission to provide in-home nursing assessment, patient safety-checks, care and advocacy for residents of the mountain towns. It is the only project of its kind in southwestern Vermont. As of the date of this appeal, Regina Downer RN, MS has managed 362 home visits, 12 calls to the rescue squad, the delivery of 750 hot suppers (with dedicated volunteers) as well as 160 loaves of fresh bread (baked and donated by local innkeepers), and 15 telemedical visits between patients and primary care providers. 

There is never a financial charge for this confidential and professional service. This non-profit agency operates totally on the generous donations of friends and neighbors in our mountain communities.
